detention of UN personnel by the Houthi terrorists in North Yemen. The international community must shame the Houthis and hold them accountable for their violations and reject the Houthis’ weaponization of aid, and the use of threats and kidnappings as a bargaining chip.

They said it was a Muslim Brotherhood project that aimed to form forces outside official security institutions of Hadramaut, replace Hadhrami Elite Forces, & impose arbitrary measures that harmed citizens. The attendees reaffirmed their commitment to Hadramaut's stability & agreed on the following:

The leadership of the Hadramaut Tribal Alliance held an emergency meeting today to address recent unrest in the governorate. The unrest was triggered by what was described as a manufactured crisis under the pretext of demanding Hadhramaut’s rights.

A week on since the Trump bombing began, the US has bombed Yemen for six consecutive nights. The Sana'a Health Ministry has reported at least 161 casualties. The UN has verified at least two boys, aged six and eight, were amongst those killed in US strikes on 16 March.

Because of recent activities by the Houthis and other terrorist groups to destabilize Hadramaut, particularly the Valley and Desert of Hadramaut, South Yemen. The deputy governor of Hadramaut, chairman of the Hadramaut Tribal League, Sheikh Amr bin Habrish in Saudi Arabia to discuss recent events.

If the world had taken a firmer stance earlier—by enforcing @UN resolutions, holding Iran accountable for arming the Houthis, & preventing the Houthis from dictating the terms of peace—the situation might be different today. Instead, Yemenis&world are paying for yrs of inaction& misguided diplomacy.

Meanwhile, the Houthis used ceasefires & negotiations to regroup, rearm, and expand their control.
2025, Houthis have graduated from a domestic rebel group to a global threat. Their attacks on Red Sea shipping disrupted global trade, forcing the U.S. to launch a new bombing campaign in Yemen.

The agreement was meant to de-escalate fighting around Hodeidah, but it gave Houthis control over a critical port while they continued their military expansion unchecked.

Rather than forcing the Houthis to abide by their commitments, intal comm repeatedly sought compromises that legitimized them.

This triggered Op Decisive Storm, on March 26, 2015.

Although Aden & rest of the South was liberated by end of 2015. Failure to hold the Houthis accountable, combined w shortsighted peace deals like the Stockholm Agreement in 2018, emboldened the Houthis & derailed liberation of the North.

This marked a significant escalation in the conflict, since the Houthis seized the capital Sana’a in September 2014, and started marching South.

The attack in Aden was a direct challenge to Hadi’s authority and signaled that the Houthis were extending their military campaign beyond North Yemen.

March 19 marked ten years since the Houthis launched the air war in Yemen by bombing the presidential palace in Aden on March 19, 2015.

On March 6, 2025 the President of the Southern Transitional Council started an extensive tour to all the Southern governorates, along with the Southern ministers. They inaugurated Ataq Airport in Shabwa and Abdul Kuri Airport in Socotra.

The Southern forces have consistently defeated the Houthis at every front, driven by a deep ideological and political opposition to the group.

This victory underscored a critical point: just as the Houthis were defeated and pushed out of most of South Yemen in 2015 and driven out of much of Yemen's West Coast from 2017 to 2018, they can be defeated when there is a genuine will to do so and a powerful force leading the charge.

Today marks the 3rd anniversary of the liberation of Bayhan, Usaylan, & Ain districts, in Shabwah province, South Yemen, from Houthi control. On Jan. 1, 2022, the Southern Defense Forces launched Operation "Southern Tornado" to reclaim Bayhan, successfully pushing the Houthis out within 10 days.

Even though the attacks weren't as successful as past attacks, the back-to-back nature of the attacks and the shift in timing are significant. Simultaneously, the Houthis carried out drone and armed attacks on the Lahj and Al-Dhale fronts.
