We quantitatively evaluated the swimming and flagellar movement of Chattonella, a red-tide alga.
Chattonella has two unequal flagella, and we found a positive correlation between anterior flagellum length and swimming speed. #protistonsky

Asked similar question before but I try again. Anyone knows proteins that localize like this? This protein is present in diplonemids/bodonids/euglenids/Naegleria, which have two flagella, but not in trypanosomatids that have just one flagellum. Potentially interesting for flagella/cilia community?

Itโs interesting that all versions of Alphafold distort large extended proteins to โglobulariseโ them. Itโs fine for people that understand those helices are โbentโ but for non experts itโs confusing. ๐ซค ๐ค It happens a lot and isnโt well discussed in the community.
