This is also why I just can't get behind the calls for an "End Update" there are so many older systems that need attention (like enchanting and minecarts) that I wish would get priority over new blocks/mobs/biomes/items that we really don't even need right away

This would give the player some amount of choice of what kinds of enchants they want (like, you might not want to get any combat on an axe), without just being a full-on granular customization menu

In this situation, let's say you put 2 points into magic and 1 into durability, this would yield a sword with either unbrk I or II with a higher (but not guaranteed highest) level of sharpness (or smite/bane-o-athro) and some chance of looting/flame/sweeping edge etc...

Minecraft's enchanting system should be more trade-off based, for example: trying to do lvl 30 enchants on a sword still takes three lvls but you get to allocate where those three points go, either into durability or magic

And I realize this doesn't matter that much, ultimately, it's a good recording and a good performance...this is just the typical "selling sound to people who don't know sound" BS that like...most of the audiophile industry is built around.

2) use a stereo mic setup in the middle, either X/Y or ORTF
3) use a spaced pair of omnis on the left and right side of the band with a cardioid in the middle to get vocals (this would result in a "true" sound in terms of room to source ratio and using the natural projection of the instruments)

All mics distort the sound, of course, but close mics distort even further. If they really wanted a minimal setup, there are much better options that would result in a more natural sound.
For example:
1) use a single mic to pick up everything (pretty much what they did but without the close mics)

And I should add: I'm not apposed to close mics. They absolutely have their uses. But don't go advertising how about how few mics were used to get a more natural sound and then show me a setup that is inherently not that.

Also...my lack of experience charting out songs by ear isn't helping either...I think this is only the 3rd of 4th song I've tried really properly charting by ear so far.

To clarify: I'm trying to chart out the song 'Veruca Salt' that he did for the Charlirle and the Chocolate Factory movie, and it's proving to be much tougher than I thought it would be.
