Sparks just barely survived a Grass Knot, and a Spark managed to KO despite being resisted. Second Gym down!

Lucky put up a good fight, but Ember just wasn’t enough to overcome the level gap and the berry heal. The Roserade outsped, so I tried a desperate Mach Punch, praying for a crit or something. No dice.

Basically what I expected.

Gardenia set up Safeguard on it, but I just had Flit spam Wing Attack until it fell over. Time for the ace…

Welp, Meteor got critted. Was only a matter of time I suppose. No big deal, still got 2 solid mons with effective damage left.

Guys, I think Gardenia might be stupid. She’s facing a decently strong Fire type with a mono-Grass team, and so decides to 1) Use a move that makes Fire stronger, 2) Not do anything that benefits from sun, and 3) Burn a turn and a Super Potion healing off damage that I just put right back on.

Okay, good start. It set up Reflect on the switch-in, so I used Ember rather than Flame Wheel.

-Very worried by the number of Galactic thugs patrolling the city. Trying not to think too hard about it.

-Still can’t believe how well he’s fared so far, and is waiting anxiously for the other shoeto drop and for things to start going wrong again

-Still not potty trained lol

Lucky the Monferno

-Still salty about being benched against Roark. And about his middling performance against Mars. And about Flit evolving before him.

-Does NOT like Meteor. At all. Resents him for muscling in on his niche, and for having stronger Fire moves

-VERY eager to show off vs. Gardenia

Flit the Staravia

-Still preening heavily about being the first of Leo’s Pokémon to evolve

-Despised the underground tunnels during Leo’s brief detour there

-Leo sometimes lets him fly ahead and scout. Keeps him from getting too antsy between battles

Meteor the Ponyta

-Caught during the Oreburgh training arc

-Was eager to prove himself during the trek up to and through Eterna Forest. Very much succeeded in doing so.

-Will probably be the MVP vs. Gardenia. STAB Flame Wheel coming off his fairly solid Attack stat will be a big help

Dora the Bibarel

-Still Leo’s primary overnight cuddle buddy. Took her a night or two to get used to not laying on top of him anymore

Has been slowly taking on a motherly role towards Leo’s other Pokémon

-Likely won’t feature much in this gym since she’s part Water type now

Sparks the Luxio

-More proud and confident since her evolution. Still not a big fan of other Shinx-line mons tho

-Begrudgingly helps Leo keep his gadgets charged in exchange for treats and pets.
