I had a boatload of trouble converting a Radeon 7000 from PC to Mac. I had to switch the EEPROM (I don’t think it was SPI flash?) from 64kb to 128kb to fit the Macintosh firmware, then the card had to be flashed from the Mac as it wouldn’t work when directly flashing it from my programmer

I still need to replay Terranigma because it has been 20 years since last time and I am still grinding my teeth that I didn’t resurrect Mu

Also FF5 is one of the best and most underrated (because Americans usually skip it because of the FF3/6 thing) games in the series. Highly recommended

I do have one. It also has the switch, but it’s missing the shroud and it has a long-ish cable. It also has the screw holes in the side to attach the usual switch/shroud to it. Weird thing

I have used it with three GPUs (Virge GX in AGP slot + 2x Voodoo 2s) and the rest of the PCI slots filled to the brim: SCSI card, USB2 card, Gigabit Network and an AWE64 Gold. That thing never flinched. RAM is 256MB, iirc but I can’t be sure, might be 128MB.

I have a P5A and it has been always bug-free for me - but I know ASUS made a mess with revisions so I might’ve just lucked out.

At this point I don’t think it will ever come out, and even if it does, 86Box is so far ahead that it won’t make much sense to go back to PCem

AFAIR this doesn’t impact ATAPI drives (like CDROMs) but only ATA-2+ hard drives. Anyway it was fixed in 3.1.4+ ROMs and I think @polpo.org has 3.2 on that Amiga? Not sure from the screenshots though

Anyway you can still get Radeon 7000s for cheap. I got one a year ago or so and flashed it for usage in my Macintosh G3. Even better if you can get Radeon 9250 but the Amiga users gobbled them up

This means the ESS chip is working fine, at least some pins of it. Back to the DAC/AMP part as potential culprit. Is this on another PC with known good -5V and -12V voltages? I wouldn’t trust the Neoware for this kind of testing, too many variables there. Testing this needs a proper AT power supply
