No way I’m watching the SOTU tonight. My MBA class runs til 9:30 PM or so, followed by an episode or 2 of Shoresy to watch while petting my cats.

Honeydew, because it’s almost never ripe enough for me.

Alas, no Waffle Houses up here in New Jersey to gauge how bad the blizzard is getting.

Also, insult to injury: none of those four accounts are accounts that I typically watch. If I’d gone through my list to do an audit, they’d probably all get unfollowed.

I know that the TikTok ownership for United States content has changed. I know there’s all sorts of screwed up things happening with that. I was already on the fence about what to do, but if I suddenly can’t see anything from the almost 600 accounts that I follow, then there’s no point.

If you want to shout devastating but technically non-threatening things at ICE, you can say, "you look like your mom chose shitty men to be your step dads." Or "you look like your dad always had an excuse for missing your birthday."

It’s been a smidge over 25 years since I finished my last graduate degree and I’m way beyond rusty leading up to my new masters degree program. Aaaaaaaaaaaah…

T-minus 24 hours and 21 minutes until my very first MBA class. I’m a little bit nervous but am keeping a positive trying to stay positive. I’ll keep repeating that I’ll be fine and perhaps that’ll be true.

Yes, person who administered my shingles vaccine today: the shingles vaccine DID make my arm hurt over the next few hours. Ow ow ow.

That being said: I’d rather my arm hurt for a few hours than potentially get shingles. Shingles doesn’t play around.

Also, trivia: I was pregnant at the last library conference that I attended. She turns 13 this fall. 🙂

I’m attending a library conference today and super excited for the experience. It’ll be other academic library folk from my region, discussing topics of interest. It’s the first library conference that I’m attending in [thinks] 13 years and I’m so grateful to get to do so. Library folks assemble! 🙂

Tonight: black eyed peas and cornbread, prosecco, maybe popcorn, maybe some Lake Champlain chocolate, and the series finale of Stranger Things. Sounds like a happy new year to me. 🙂

My only saving grace is that the kids know Santa is me. But… ugggh.
