(The two films were originally released as a double feature, which was the only way that Totoro would have been funded. Whenever Totoro ran first people would walk out once the second movie started. When Fireflies was first the audience would be desperate for a change of mood and stay to the end.)

Another amazing Ghibli film is Grave of the Fireflies. Roger Ebert described it as one of the greatest films of all time.

Be aware that it is also one of the most depressing films ever made. Have a copy of "My Neighbour Totoro" queued up and watch it immediately after this one finishes.

And while we're on the subject of Anime, there's also everything by Studio Ghibli. If you haven't seen them, Howl's Moving Castle, The Cat Returns, Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, Pom Poko, Kiki's Delivery Service, and My Neighbour Totoro are all fantastic.

Big Fish & Begonia. This is a Chinese film about the supernatural world. The story is a little convoluted, but the animation is absolutely amazing.

A few that aren't so obvious, but are definitely good:

Your Name (Kimi no Na Wa). Two Japanese kids wake up to find that they are living each other's lives. Just watch this one, don't read anything about it first.
