Butterfly goal: I want to observe those cute little fake snakes aka spicebush Swallowtail caterpillars.

Butterfly report: milkweed is up; black swallowtail crysalis emptied itself while I was working.

Tonight, the j shape has been achieved, by morning I'll see the crysalis. Stay tuned! My goal is to photograph the whole life cycle. Note: this cat decided to pupate on the milkweed, after investigating the patio table. Its unusual but not unheard of.

A pretty, powdery amanita. Perhaps Amanita daucipes, or some kind of lepidella.
