The Strider solo mode version of the Journey procedure does allow real encounters during journeys, but I think it's not good for regular play because it can weaken the PCs too much before they reach their destination.

How did that module go in terms of player choice? I think we'd talked about it being a non-railroady module.

My sister had the same experience. Young women were crowding around her to see the blonde woman who spoke Arabic. (She also responded to cat callers in Arabic, which confused them.)

One thing I'd suggest is to make sure the deep lore can be separated from the immediately usable lore as much as possible.

The WFRP 4e books have thousand-year timelines in them, but they're separated from the immediately usable locations, NPCs, etc.

Arden Vul mixes all of that together.
