All 8 shafts are installed and she folds. Shop is closing up, so have to continue at home

She looks like a loom!

The new loom is mostly put together. Just need to adjust the height of the shafts, and tie the warping sticks to the front and back beams.

Oh and I only hurt myself once. The castle fell on my thumb before I could secure it.

But I love her so much! Need to still name her though.

My new Ashford 24” 8 Shaft loom arrived from New Zealand today.

Hopefully I can get it put together. I’ve watched a few You Tube videos and unpacked my tools.

The art studio is packed and ready for movers. All looms are empty except the rigid heddle (I have to have something to do).
Unfortunately I packed a little too quickly because the movers aren’t coming for another 11 days.

I also have a piece I wove last year and I still haven’t decided if it’s a scarf or table runner. Here it is as a scarf.

I didn’t like raising 7 shafts with one treadle.

She is finally off the loom.
No more projects for a while as I’m buying a home and moving my weaving studio to the new house.

I participated in my spinners and weavers guild Dye Day. We used fiber reactive dyes to tie dye, paint warps, and shibori. Results are still forthcoming.

I just put this new warp on my new Kairos inkle loom. I’m curious to see how many bookmark can get with this larger loom. On my Schacht inkle, I get 10 on one warp.
