Yup! My sister (with British passport) lives in Ireland with her non-EU family as it was too expensive for her to settle in the UK at the time. So they went to Ireland, and have now lived there long enough to apply for Irish citizenship. Hilariously my sister will then be disadvantaged re: EU FoM. 😬

Yes, I'm aware of that, but their relationship with the UK is unique to that of the rest of the EU/EEA (see also dual nationals, CTA, etc.). My partner is Irish, so we've often had this same discussion, while I'm Norwegian and had lived in the UK for almost 20 years when the referendum was done.

😁 I like simple! I tend to agree, but when I lived in the UK, people would argue that spring began on the equinox date, and I'd say either works, but they were adamant! 🤦🏼‍♀️
