Devastating news for Italo/Eurobeat fans. Reports that legendary singer/producer Mauro Farina died at 68. HUGELY prolific, releasing under over 80 names incl. Max Coveri, Alphatown, FCF, Radiorama, King Kong & D'Jungle Girls, Danny Keith and Styloo. Probably wrote 60%+ of my favs.

It's a sad day today, as #eurobeat legend Mauro Farina passed away at just 68 years old.
Farina was one of the godfathers of eurobeat, even coining the name and active in italodisco and eurobeat since the early 80s.
My condoleances to his family, friends and the #SAIFAM team.
You will be missed. 😭

The person depicted in the red baseball cap and blue-ish jeans here is Alberto Contini (or I suppose "AC Wild" if you know him from Bulldozer), who founded A.Beat-C. along side Giancarlo Pasquini (aka Dave Rodgers) and would also produce and write many songs under the label. Contini is holding up (with one arm) a great white shark that is reminicent of the first version of the A.Beat-C. logo and I think it's pretty cool !
