Looking at the world today, I find myself randomly recounting passages from Plato or Aristotle I read first year of undergrad. Remembering models of human behavior I learned 15 years ago. Before smart phones were even a thing. And you aren't gonna get that in your head via Gemini summary.

This was wild. The depth, scope, and complexity of all these characters over decades, with personal/meta(?) sections weaved throughout. Held back just enough w/out tipping into overexplaining. This is the kind of craft I admire but don't have the guts or skill to pull off. I was fucking blown away.

I’ve tried to be as fair to Mamdani as possible. I’ve reached out, as have other journalists, several times. They’ve stonewalled us. It would go a long way if they could just say if they’re willing to direct H+H to absorb the patients, which is what she was asked about and she refused to say yes.

Mamdani literally put out a 2 min ad when trying to get elected about the history of trans activists in NYC and promising to protect trans people.
