This is the corridor outside the rooms. It continues south and there are rooms to the east and west. A stair leads down.

You are in the midst of a searingly hot desert. Trails snake amongst the dunes in many directions.

This is a rocky beach along a grey and lifeless sea. There is dead seaweed covering many rocks, and listless waves barely stir the flotsam and jetsam here. There are many shells, but all are broken. A narrow path to the northwest leads into a meadow.

A strong wet breeze blows from a low doorway to the east. A circle of light leads west. The passageway continues south.

This is a sparsely furnished living area for the servants of the Guild. None are in sight; presumably they are out doing their daily errands. You can leave to the southwest.

A rutted drive runs north-south here, from a high spiked gate through the jungle to Lafond's mansion. You hide in the bushes nearby.

This room was used by holders of safety deposit boxes to view their contents. On the north side of the room is a sign which says:

'Remain here while the teller retrieves your safety deposit box. When you are finished, leave the box, and exit to the south.

You are on a narrow strip of beach which runs along the base of the White Cliffs. There is a narrow path heading south along the Cliffs and a tight passage leading west into the cliffs themselves.

This murky and suffocating room is fifty paces long and ten wide and packed with naked, sweating Japanese. Scarcely any light filters through the boards and beams that make up the walls and low ceiling. A heavy iron door seals the prisoners in.

You are at the edge of a lava vent in an active volcano. The lava glows red and yellow, and there is a stench of sulphur in the air. A lake of lava bubbles and steams before you, molten rock roiling from unseen disturbances.

Here, at the southwest corner of Ostnitz Square, you can walk down either Besnap Street to the east and west, or Ostnitz Street to the north and south. In the Square, thousands of people have gathered for the festivities which are to begin at noon.

This is the great cabin, the Captain-General's quarters and magazine. The passageway leading to the other officers' cabins is forward.

The hallway ends here with a large doorway leading east, and smaller doorways to the north and south. The northern doorway is labelled 'Planateree Kors Kontrool.' The hallway itself leads west.

This short passage turns from east to north to stop abruptly at an iron door.
