Two black cats on a sofa surrounded by wooden blankets (one colourfully crocheted, the other a grey monstrosity). The larger cat, Pippa, is halfway through blinking while Vesper is cuddling her looking at the camera upside down.

Yeah, I think the cats feel at home now.

I have to say I'm a fan of any place that will add roast aubergine and spiced potato to a wrap. Probably the northerner in me.

Thanks for the tip, likewise!

I've not been inside the shop itself but the falafel kiosk does probably the most consistently good falafel wraps I've had. Worth my trip from Tottenham!

Getting to Budgens of Islington at opening time so they're still deep frying the falafels is the peak falafel experience ๐Ÿ‘Œ

Not a problem in our house as we don't have one!

The printer, however, is a highly suspicious object that must be batted at repeatedly to see what makes it go.

It's okay if you yourself don't like ballet or opera. My primary concern for both art forms is that they need funding and the artists need support.

It takes many hours to build the artists these arts can show through. We also need to feed the young and developing artists ballets and operas!

It later turned out that the irl name I chose was also the one my grandmother had but didn't go by, alternate spelling and all, but I found this out from my dad in between choosing the name and coming out to him, so that was an emotional rollercoaster I had to hide behind a straight face.

Irl name: Shouting names across the room with my partner in lockdown to find something that fit within my criteria (multi-syllabic, not alliterating with my surname).

Pen name: My Confirmation name, because St Lawrence is the patron of libraries and reportedly died making bad puns.

I am fully aware that I could have just balled up another bit of tinfoil.

I am also fully aware that it would not have been the *same* bit of tinfoil and would have been Inferior.

Update: she somehow managed only to bat it under the fridge so guess who had to crawl on her belly with a stick to fish out a manky bit of tinfoil?

Vesper managed to bat her favourite toy (a scrunched-up ball of tinfoil) under a cupboard. She's now under there too, trying to fish it out.

I can't see her but I know she's there because of the scrapes, thuds, and occasional frustrated chirrups ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Maybe it'll happen today?

C'mon, seize life by the lemons and make it happen whatever 'it' might be, maybe today's the day you decide to learn piano, go to the gym, draw that OC you're always thinking about, engineer that device you think'd be neat, or tell that someone in your life how you feel!

This is the contented face of a cat whose mum is coping with the last half hour of the working day/week by singing Lordi songs at her.

So much of what is happening with genAI is b/c the mainstream media is already slop, full of poorly-worded, poorly-argued articles assigned on the basis of follower count & edited to scare as few horses as possible. Passive voice, lazy metaphors, no theory of history, cheerleading for capital.

This place is getting much worse for alt-text recently! Include it for your own images and don't repost images that don't have it (except to add alt text yourself if you feel it's important to share it anyway).

Of course Olga has sucker-punched me with "early modern transgender monk writing a Life of St Wilgefortis while trying to live as a nun" subplot ๐Ÿ˜ญ

It is very wholesome (so far) and I am very attacked.
