But a lot of people are way too gleeful that this means they no longer have to pretend to care about antisemitism.

The horror of Israel’s atrocities in Gaza has enabled me to convince many of my Boomer Jewish relatives to be more critical of Israel, and not to reflexively assume pro-Palestine activism is antisemitic.
If Platner becomes the leading anti-Israel voice in the Senate, that work disappears overnight.
I’m not saying that whoever wrote the Torah was into vore, but why is God threatening to eat people so much?!?

I’m not sure the timing works great for that era though, since we have reasons to think the basics of the stories significantly predate their written form, in part due to the authors’ apparent unawareness of some names being Egyptian.

“The sacrifice of Jesus is eternal, unlike the Temple sacrifices which have to be repeated each time you sin.”
Okay but you see why that’s worse, right?
There’s a lot of midrash that make Mordecai sound way more of an asshole than the original story does, which is a very interesting angle for the rabbis to take.

Yeah but the problem is how do you get to Jews here? And how do they handle the population bottleneck at Noah’s Ark?
Best I know, midrash I’ve seen still had Cain’s lineage wiped out (Og and his brothers aside) by the flood?
How’s that supposed to work?
