If Trump was in there, why didn’t Biden release everything? Just curious. Current admin is and has been releasing massive files. Cheers.

I think the variable here is the precedent of moving forward on funding without 60 votes. Both sides lower the threshold for certain things, but there is a (funding) line neither party wants to cross by doing that.

There is nothing for the House to take out of the CR. The negotiation needs to happen on the appropriation bill, which can’t happen til the CR is passed. & there is no shoring up the ACA. There are fixes, but taxpayers cannot pay ever increasing subsidies - real fix is needed, not just pay more $.

Sorry, alternate POV - simply passing the CR would have avoided all this, and then negotiations for the last 2-3 appropriation bills would have happened per normal operation. Ds wanted a shutdown, so they vote No on the CR. This is on them unfortunately. This manufactured crisis needs to end. Thanks

He’s following the Pelosi precedent, and Grijalva will be sworn is as soon as they are back in session, which will happen sooner when at least 5-6 Dems vote YEA on the CR. House was out of session when she was elected. This is normal. Hope it ends soon, for her sake and all of America.

Um, if that was the plan, then the Dems could have thwarted it by simply voting YEA, and then negotiating the last 2-3 appropriation bills per regular order. It’s a ginned up β€˜crisis’ orchestrated by Democrats unfortunately. No reason for it at all.

Ds set the addit’l temporary COVID subsidies to expire at EOY. The original subsidies are NOT expiring. The ACA is flawed and needs fixing, as those $billions you speak of cannot be borne by the rest of taxpayers either. Senate needs to fix the problem, not kick the can and hope for the best. Cheers

There is nothing for Rs to negotiate - they put nothing but an extension for time in the CR. Ds need to come to their senses, and the negotiations will happen after the gov is open. That will also bring the house back into session, which will see Grijalva sworn in, people paid, etc etc. Easy.

This will only get much worse for these people, and will be a hardship for our military and others. +the 42M on SNAP benefits. Do the math - time to vote YEA Senator. Thx.

@markwarner.bsky.social @kaine.senate.gov Senators, time to call it - vote YEA - people need their pay and food benefits! Stop being idiots. Thanks, a Virginian.

@senatedemocrats.bsky.social @schumer.senate.gov You cannot stop pay and food benefits at the same time you say you are β€˜fighting for the people.’ VOTE YEA on the CR. Stop being idiots. Thx.

Counter point, yes sad to see the demo but has anyone ever done work on an old home? It’s always - β€œcrap, now that we see this (new bad thing) we have to fix it.” East Wing, 80 years old. The reno will upgrade everything. Hope it’s rebuilt in same style, but internal improvements.

@markwarner.bsky.social @kaine.senate.gov Senators, Virginian here, and missing another paycheck this week. Open the government, then work with Republicans to amend the ACA so it can be affordable without subsidies. Thanks. This has to stop now.

Ball’s in YOUR court - time to vote YAY for the CR.

Democrats want:

$193B - illegal alien healthcare
$1.1B - NPR and PBS
$135M - WHO
$24.6M - climate resilience, Honduras
$13.4M - civic engagement, Zimbabwe
$8M - UN Human Rights Council
$6M - β€œNet Zero Cities”, Mexico
$3M -Iraqi Sesame Street

Hi, it’s just the difference between a CR and a budget. Budget discussions are for policy negotiations. If we ever have a functional congress, perhaps we can get back to regular order and just pass appropriations and budgets, and not have to worry about CRs, which are just a bridge due to timing.

Our constitutional republic remains without Kings! Great job, thank you! : )

Ok just curious - have you been screaming for them since the Biden administration had them? I’m trying to figure out why people are only rabid over them now, but not for the prior few years? Thanks for any insight.

What, Donahue is 73 she should not get another term. That’s 10 years! Vote NO for all of them, what have they actually done??

Every one being honest knows it’s Schumer’s Shutdown. Peace out.

It is just a CR without any policy adds, the same one Democrats voted YAY on 13 times already. There is no β€˜offer’ tied to it. America needs this to end. Thanks.

20.10.2025 15:53 β€” πŸ‘ 4    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

You do know 60 votes are needed, so no, Republicans don’t control this vote. We need the government to open, then all of Congress can get back to work and fight over spending and policy. It’s all a stunt.

20.10.2025 15:51 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Sir, please end YOUR shutdown and get on with business at hand. Government open first, people need to be paid. Only Democrats and Rand Paul voted to shut it down, if you don’t want to own it then stop already. Yay votes please & thank you.

20.10.2025 15:49 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Senator, Democrats created the crisis by passing the ACA. Enough of this, open the government so people can get paid, then have an honest conversation about how to reverse course on the ACA. Hint: Massive subsidies forever is not the answer. Thanks.

20.10.2025 15:40 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

You’re correct, it’s not right that Congress gets paid when they fail to do their job. But in problem-solving mode: We need you to vote YAY and reopen the government, then all the bad goes away - no missed paychecks etc. Please do your job instead of grandstanding about the paycheck.

20.10.2025 10:11 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The party that voted NAY to the clean CR owns the shutdown. You can stop it with a handful of YAY votes. Your dialogue about fighting is a cheap cover - just do your job and open the government. Thanks.

20.10.2025 10:09 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The short term clean CR is not the time to β€œfight” for policy. You know this. Open the government then negotiate, it’s so simple. Virginians (myself included) are missing paychecks - we blame you and your party. Time’s up for this charade.
