Completely agree. Additionally, if she is making a leadership move, she really needs to wait until the tax investigation concludes. If still hanging over her while she’s running the right wing media in particular will have a field day, to the detriment of the party, and by extension the country

Is it worth exploring what leads right wing observers to maintain this stance; perhaps politeness and eloquence masking sinister comments continually showing him as a figure that would willingly take our society backwards

Clearly scripted by someone else, but most politicians’ speeches are? And clinging to the lectern, surely just his presentation style. As much as we might wish for him to cling to it like a walking frame I’m not sure this is confirmation of it..

As Osborne said on his podcast, had Johnson lost Uxbridge in 2019, Kruger would have stood aside in Devizes to let Johnson take it in a by-election. Does Kruger consider his idol to be similarly ‘unregulated?’

Surely this risk being disastrous for the ECB. When seeking investors, they stressed the need for reputational due diligence, and the importance for investors to be aligned with ECB values…

For many right wing observers, Kruger’s eloquence and politeness means many of his (I consider) dangerous views do not meet required scrutiny. Libby Purves described him last week as ‘sane and principled’ whereas to many his comments are often quite sinister.

I think the thread is how social media exacerbates those in vulnerable periods. Clearly the case with younger people, &where too much of an onus has been on parents to safeguard. But people go through vulnerable periods throughout their life, and in extreme scenarios can lead to radicalisation

I think they’ve moved beyond Strauss. Someone with better links to counties would be ideal. Fundamentally though Key has proved ill suited to the role, regardless of who they bring in.

350m was a deliberate electoral choice designed to misinform, JR was lazily misinformed on the record. But for public figures stepping into issues of such sensitivity accuracy should be paramount. It’s not enough to just say ‘but the thrust of the argument needs to be considered’.

I’m surprised by atherton’s ljne. Rob Key lied to him&Hussain & the media round. Coupled with poor decisions throughout. What does it say to eng players, the lions and men’s game that the MD just lied like that? ‘It’s alright lads, if you’re in a pickle just lie’. It should matter. Key should resign
