I agree with that, although the energy companies put their profits over consumers, highlighted when the Ukraine War broke out, and the govt were powerless to stop massive rises on the cost of gas/electricity. Fuel poverty rocketed with energy companies passing all their cost rises on to the public.

Yet she’s still regarded as one of the best PMs. OK she transformed Britain from its strike-plagued doldrums but the toxic time bombs she planted are reverberating today, particularly the dental deserts and the astronomical costs of placing refugees and homeless people in private B&Bs /hotels.

Not picking on Kelly, who generally I admire. But the rush by Democrats to assure folks that they "shed no tears for Khamenei" alarms & disgusts me.

Starmer’s position is entirely consistent with what he wrote about Iraq in 2003, a fact of enormous inconvenience to just about everybody currently criticising it. Happily for them, just like the entire bloody Chilcot Inquiry it is apparently very easy to ignore.
