Während Europa noch über Verbrennermotoren und Technologieoffenheit diskutiert, baut China seine Dominanz in der batteriebasierten Zukunftstechnologie aus. Das ist wie 2007: Während Nokia fest an die Tasten glaubte, eroberte Apple die Welt mit dem iPhone (und später dann Samsung & Co).

Nokia glaubte auch, sie hätten noch Zeit. Konzerne Unternehmen finden immer Ausreden, um Wandel zu verzögern und ihr Legacy-Produkt weiter am Markt zu halten. Ohne regulatorischen Druck passiert aber: nichts. null. niente. Die EU-Flottenregulierung ist ein notwendiger Weckruf vor dem Absturz.

Hattmannsdorfer spricht von "Subventionierung der asiatischen Konkurrenz". China führt den E-Auto-Markt, weil sie früh auf die richtige Technologie gesetzt haben. BYD & Co sind stark durch Visionen, nicht durch Subventionen, während die ÖVP nach wie vor den Verbrenner anbetet.
