Might be a hot take, but I, for one, don't think you should be hauled off by a team of undercover cops simply for having written an op-ed they didn't like.

Disturbing on so many levels. College students in America shouldn’t fear being taken off the street by plainclothes, masked law enforcement (?) for reasons unknown.

To avoid further chilling speech, the feds, at minimum, have to be palms up about the allegations against her.

Join us today!

These attacks may have occurred in small towns but this is a national issue.

We've seen authorities from coast to coast run similar playbooks, from LA suing a reporter for publishing records it gave him to a suburban Chicago mayor having a reporter ticketed from asking questions.

Here’s step-by-step what happened, our thought process and the editorial standards involved. Here are the experts we consulted and why we decided to ask them, here’s another reporter we’ve added to the story to lend legitimacy… here’s all the information we have β€” so now you, reader, can decide.

Master class from @TheAtlantic in reporting in two of the most fraught scenarios in journalism:
1) national security’s at stake
2) you’ve become the story

Extreme transparency. Don’t editorialize.

The Justice Department instructing Judge Boasberg to yield to β€œthe mandate of the electorate” and stop asking questions about defiance of his court order is honestly one of the most demented and disturbing things I’ve ever seen in a legal filing. It comes pretty close to a claim of divine right.

This is such a low-thought, tedious take.

1) The group was for a particular op. It wasn't some general, persistent admin group chat. Low chance sitting on it yields more

2) Once the strikes happened, he lost plausible deniability of the group's authenticity. That's a danger zone for him, legally
