85 years ago today my father (aged just 6) was evacuated from #Guernsey - the experience shaped him for the rest of his life, as it did many others.

I'm very grateful to the Guernsey Press for publishing my tribute to him today..

Very special moment - mum & I voting together today in #Guernsey elections...thinking too of Dad today and thanking him enabling us to be rooted in this 'gem of the sea', which is our home...

I believe politics should be values driven. Thats why I've grouped the areas I'm keen to focus on under my three priorities, which form the basis of a #FairGuernsey.

This morning I registered first thing as a candidate in the #Guernsey #Elections2025

Good to meet various people in the queue, including Kerensa Gardener and several other excellent women. Hoping it'll mean we have a more balanced & representative Chamber.

So pleased I've found these - I loved being part of these Gang Shows (I helped form the pit orchestra)...

Who'd have known the timing would be so apt?

In Aug 2024 I was asked to write a series of short reflections for Anglican Link for their Easter 2025 issues, where they wanted to focus on #LGBT matters and the Church.

I felt led to write about my meeting with Pope Francis and the fruit it had borne

in the form of the Global Interfaith Commission on LGBT+ Lives.

Little did I know how timely these would be...

Who'd have known the timing would be so apt?

In Aug 2024 I was asked to write a series of short reflections for Anglican Link for their Easter 2025 issues, where they wanted to focus on #LGBT matters and the Church.

I felt led to write about my meeting with Pope Francis and the fruit it had borne

I love the fact that the late #PopeFrancis asked to be buried in Santa Maria Maggiore - just across the road from the #Argentinian Embassy, the nearest place he had to home! Not sure many have picked up on that yet...!

It's also a beautiful, accessible and yet simple Church, amongst 'the people'

Baroness @shamichakrabar1 talks about her belief in #humanrights

- Democracy needs basic protected rights to function & survive

- It's also important for the fundamental human dignity of all

- Law & politics need to mutually respect each other, but there need to be redlines!

I am fortunate to have some special memories of #PopeFrancis, not least the very special act of him signing a T-shirt (which he rarely did) which I’d worn to St John Henry Newman’s beatification (who had built our church), and which I then asked #JustinWelby to sign…

He was the kindest of pastors

#PopeFrancis was an extraordinary man, who was determined to keep at the heart of his ministry his calling first & foremost to be a Pastor.

He continually urged his colleagues to focus on the lived reality of those they were called to serve

Our world has lost a great Godly man today 🙏
