We are growing and growing. Our newest members received their box of S.T.E.A.M. kits and College resources.

Sorry for the late post. Our Founder, La Tonya Smith, received the Adell Foundation’s Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award on lat weekend. Some of our youth and families were there to share this occasion with her.

Science, digging and learning…oh my. There’s nothing like getting your hands dirty and discovering what something is or what is in a “science” dig. This young ma was so excited.

Learning about circuits and sound though our S.T.E.A.M. Program with Snap Circuits is exciting for this young lady.

Congratulations to our 2025 Gridiron Grill Fundraiser winner, Mrs. ReAndra Gumbs of Tallahassee Florida. Her and her family will also receive an Omaha Steak Box.

Kids are sponges, soaking up everything they touch, feel, see, wnd smell. Learning is the building blocks to success. This young lady is no different. She absolutely enjoyed her S.T.E.A.M. Science Dig kit.

Nothing gives you more confidence and a sense of accomplishment than building some on your own. This young man loves coding and building robots.

We provide in home S.T.E.A.M. Activity kits to our youth so they can develop creativity, critical thinking skills, coding, learning with fun!

Building something with your hands is always great, especially a musical instrument. This is who we are, speaking life!

Working with your hands to build and search for things makes learning an exciting and fun experience. These two young men worked on their Science and Building kits with enthusiasm.

Please congratulate one of our 2024 Next Chapter Awardees, Madison Matthews, who has earned this prestigious honor at her college, Georgia Tech. She has been putting in the work, making marks and definitely rising up. Madison is a leader and inspiration.

Anything culinary is science, chemistry, reading, comprehension, critical thinking and math, whether cooking or baking, it all works together to make something you yummy.
This young man loves this S.TE.A.M. Edible Chemistry kit. This kit has over 40 edible candies & he made these gummies.

Early learning is the best learning for our little ones. Problem solving is critical thinking and no matter the age, it is beautiful. This little princess truly enjoys her S.T.E.A.M. Logic, pre-technology and pre-coding kit.

Had a fun time at our “Back to School Golf and Fun Event” at Outrageous Mini Golf Family Fun Center in Hiram, Ga.

The youth and their parents had a ball playing golf, arcade games and challenging each other. The staff was very nice and friendly. More pics to come.

“I’m building something” says two of our young ladies who enjoyed this hands-on S.T.E.A.M. Engineering, building and art kit. Following directions, critically thinking and showing off their artistic skills are just amazing!

Through our S.T.E.A.M. Program, our youth are always learning, experimenting, developing, connecting the dots and figuring things out. This young man is thoroughly enjoying all the activities in this Snap Circuit Kit. These are amazing!

Using your hands to craft or build something gives a great sense of accomplishment. Building something musical is wonderful. This young man enjoyed building his ukulele kit provided by our S.T.E.A.M. Program.

Cooking, baking, any culinary activities is also science, math, reading, chemistry with creativity, critical thinking and added fun. These young ladies thoroughly enjoyed their S.T.E.A.M. lollipop kit.

Introducing our other 2025 Next Chapter Award Recipients-Miss Javonne Cook. She has been a member of SLYC International for 6 years, graduating from Villa Rica High School in May 2025.

Javonne will be attending Wayne State College in the fall where she will major in Biology.

Introducing one of our 2025 Next Chapter Award Recipients-Miss Raquel Bryant. She has been a member of SLYC International for 6 years, graduating from Villa Rica High School in May 2025.

In the fall, Raquel will be attending Georgia Southern University where she will major in Nursing.

Critical thinking, focus, building and having fun with this S.T.E.A.M. Star Light kit. Our youth are the future! Doctors, scientists, artists, physicists, designers and developers.
They Are Rising Up!!!

Learning, loving and in awe with planets. This young man is a future NASA scientist and he absolutely enjoyed this S.T.E.A.M. Science solar kit.

Learning how circuits work is challenging requiring critical thinking but it is satisfying and fun. This S.T.E.A.M. Kit is a great activity.

Learning how to cook, bake and making delicious meals, desserts and snacks, will help our youth (soon to be adults) to become mini chefs. These two enjoyed attending Kroger’s Chef Juniors class through our S.T.E.A.M. Arts-Culinary program. The class “Indian Chicken Salad Flatbread”.

And just like that, we have an incoming 1st grader, Miss Ava. Congratulations little princess.

Attended a dance recital at South Cobb High School Perfoming Arts Center, of two of our pre-K students, Princess Robyn and Princess Peyton were absolutely wonderful. Different ages and grades. Amazing performances. Videos to follow.
