If they come onto us, and we play sarr & Johnson or guessand we can exploit the space. They are at home in good form so I expect they will think they will just blow us away. Interested to see if Maxence starts.

In the past we have always looked really well prepared for the game, knowing what the other team will do and we’d negate it, we’d know the real fine details, OG would make in game tweaks and we d find solutions. I haven’t really seen this recently, a coincidence or OG not as dedicated, I don’t mean.

Hi Matt a quick questions which is quite important IMO. Do you think the players are still playing for Glasner? We have looked out of sorts, but there has been a lot of changes and uncertainty and yet I still get the sense that they are playing for him. What are your thoughts?

We needed that decision to help us, but had that been one of our players walking for that, I think I’d feel it very harsh. Having said that we have had some poor decisions go against us in other games.

Has most of the physical attributes to be good, decision making can be poor, but he’s young. Today would have been tough for him, given team form and his own performances, which is why I thought he did ok. Came across well to cover for Richard’s in the 1st half, shame about his booking.

I think we got lucky there, I think that’s harsh.

I don’t think we deserve to win just by turning up, you have to earn that right, but I do think that if that taking the squads etc into account we should be beating them confortably. Im sorry if that upsets you, but that’s just what I think.

Yeah you could be right on the pressing point. OG looked furious at Ft yesterday, that gives me hope that he hasn’t checked out. Having said that I’ve always been in the keep OG camp, but I’m now pretty much 50/50. I’d love to know the players thoughts. IMO we need to back them. Give BJ time etc.

Last night was poor, we should be winning comfortably. Having said that, we didn’t lose, the pitch looked bobbly which was a bit of a leveller. What concerns me most of all is how open we are, teams get to attack the back 3 too easily. That for me is not a leadership issue rather a tactical issue.

I think Munoz will go, I’m not sure Wharton is ready for it. He does a lot of good things but still a way to go. Needs to add goals for sure, too many sliding tackles that he doesn’t necessarily win also. Some players will be off as long as we adequately replace.

Yes agreed. And in truth they were a few warning signs before they scored.

JSL scoring is a positive. We know we can defend as a team, tonight we had a very poor 10mins, hopefully this is an exception. I think it’s going to be quite uncertain until the summer. Did think their 2nd was a handball, Lermas OG was also a bit comical. Overall a poor performance.

My take would be it’s a squad game and he hasn’t yet found his feet. Maybe the game situation will create space in behind for him to exploit.

McNeil provides us with a different way of playing, we have our speed merchants and we have pino who can find pockets of space and McNeil who can supply crosses. I’m ok with this, is 20m that much these days. We forked out 30m each for sakho and benteke. JSL, mateta and Eddie, loads of options.

I actually thought pino was pretty good 1st half. Second half he was poor but so were a few others. We were always going to struggle when they sit so deep. There was v little on the bench to change things also. I’m happy with a point all things considered. New players + returners, we will be fine.

Wharton hasn’t done us any favours for today! Mateta even worse. That would improve the bench greatly. I’m trying to recall our injuries, we must have shit loads.

This isn’t a David vs Goliath match, Notts forest are favourites yes, and we probably won’t win but everyone talking like we have definitely already lost, no I can’t agree with that.

I’ve not seen many villa fans looking disappointed, but I don’t really care about that, so many players get written off straight away nowadays, you have to give people a decent chance before judging.

I found it quite amusing the number of people on here who said we shouldn’t be playing Canvot because of his lack of experience, to then watch zubimendi make an even worse mistake. Mateta can go as long as we have an adequate replacement and it’s not to a relegation rival. Ie forest.

I was unhappy with the result yesterday, but pleased that imo the players were still playing for the manager. We were still fighting this is key. A combination of bad choices/ mistakes for the key moments is why we lost. Sarr and Munoz made a huge difference. 1st half we were good. Keep faith!
