Can Excavations Uncover the Truth? β€” The Dial In Ireland, archeologists and forensic scientists are searching for the remains of nearly 800 children who died while in the care of nuns.

In Galway, I wrote about Ireland’s first state-authorized excavation of a Mother and Baby Home in Tuam…

In β€˜Global Fascisms,’ Over 50 Artists Tackle AI, Trump, and the Return of Authoritarian Politics The exhibition, β€œGlobal Fascisms,” brings together the work of 50 artists to argue fascism is not a relic of the past but an active force.

I went to Berlin Art Week and wrote about an exhibition on fascism not as a relic of the past but as an active, contemporary force in global culture and politics:

I’ll be arriving in Budapest tomorrow for the Climate Arena conference as one of this year’s climate reporting fellows. If you’ll be there and want to grab a coffee, give me a shout! Also send recommendations of things to do in the city, as I’ll have some time either side 😊

'When he heard what The Irish Times saw and heard in Sderot, Prof Bartov said it reminded him β€œof what the Germans called in World War II β€˜execution tourism’, ie touring and photographing (as souvenirs) one’s own atrocities”.'

In recent days, I operated on two women who were shot by quadcopters while sheltering in their tents near one of the locations, according to the people who brought them in. One was breastfeeding her child when she was hit; the second was pregnant.
Thankfully, both have survived their injuries so far.
These women weren't even seeking aid - they were simply sheltering in areas that are supposedly
"safe" but exposed to indiscriminate fire from the IDF's weaponised hunger apparatus.

All 5 seats in Louth now filled after the 20th count.

Labour’s Ged Nash, FG Paula Butterly and FF Erin McGreehan have been elected.

That’s a wrap πŸ‘‹πŸΌ

Day three in Louth and this is turning out to be one of the longest counts in the country. 19th count is underway (again, as a recheck is currently happening for that count).

3 out of 5 seats yet to be filled.

Still no candidate elected in Louth on the 13th count. Down to 10 candidates in the running now.

This is a 5 seater with the above 3 likely to be elected.

The candidates (below) with strongest chance for other 2 seats could mean this constituency will elect a majority of women candidates

Erin McGreehan (FF) - 5,886
Paula Butterly (FG) - 5,856
Alison Comyn (FF) - 5,029

Counting has resumed in Louth, with the 10th count just in.

SF incumbent RuairΓ Γ“ MurchΓΊ still taking the lead with 8,879 votes, followed by fellow SF Joanna Byrne with 8,319 votes, and Labour’s Ged Nash at 7,747.

No one has been elected yet as quota hasn’t been reached.

Louth is at 97% tallied now. It’s the only constituency where tallying isn’t completed yet.

In Louth, a 5-seater, it’s looking like at least 2 Sinn FΓ©in, 1 Labour so far. Other two seats too close to call.

First count expected in the next couple of hours.

I’m covering the count in Louth, which has the longest ballot paper in the country.

There are a record 24 candidates running in the constituency.

I’ll be reporting updates for The Irish Times.
