Looking at the data since the last BnR, what the fuck are WoTC doing by not banning Oops, All Spells?

It's got an over-rep of 1.73!

For reference, UB Reanimator had an over-rep of about 1.5 when it got banned.

Oops has won a quarter of all challenges, more than any other deck.

Now there were some issues yesterday using it for the first time, however that's not a surprise for a first run. Something weird happened after 3 or so rounds and needed some backend reworking. Teething problems aside, I think it's genuinely an amazing way of running the entire Pemodern scene in UK

The guys running The Big Smoke Premodern tournament series in the UK (including nationals) are doing amazing work

They have built an app which handles, tickets, declist sub, tournaments and prizes with a prize shop you can click and spend your winnings on. The app also does metagame breakdowns etc

Because I spent the majority of the tournament yesterday on table 1, quite a lot of the coverage we recorded is of me playing.

As the new financial year approaches and people get pay rises, it's important to note how employees get a pay ride once a year, to cover the previous year of inflation. Which means new inflation outstrips that pay rise within a couple of months but you have to wait until next April.

It was a really stacked field even without some of the better performing regulars on this circuit not being there.

UK Nationals is the next BIG Premodern event in the UK, and it's going to be more than twice the size of this event!

At the start of the tournament, if you asked me to predict who would have made top 8, I would probably have guessed four of them correctly.

Of the field, only three former pro tour competitors (myself included) made the top 8, that I know of.

If you think Iranian people hating the Iranian regime justifies bombing schools and residential buildings, then you also believe someone would be justified in dropping bombs all over New York because of Trump.

I top 8d a tournament with it today and I have a guide to the deck on my Patreon ;)

I played Jund, with a slightly tweaked list, those tweaks all came up and showed themselves to be good.

Top 8 was what I was aiming for so decent enough. Of the four Big Smoke quarterlies I've played, I missed my win and win on the first two and top 8d the second two.

The top four of the event split in the end.

Quarter final versus Enchantress.

Game one I do an OK job, but I drew too many of the blanks in my deck to cross the finish line.

Game two I mull to five and can't shut down both his engines and apply enough pressure so I get him down to 6 when he Replenishes after my Tranquil domain.

Should be noted that this tournament is an absolute killers row. At least 8 Pro Tour competitors including some big heavyweights like Brad Barclay and Sam Gommersall.

Two of the four of us who travelled up made the Top 8.

Round six is the final round, I am at the top of the standings and can ID. So I've done just that!
