A reader had a good suggestion: Once the ref goes to the monitor, VAR’s communication should stop. If they can’t see the infraction without the help of the commentary, it’s not clear and obvious.

This is the most obvious logical thing to implement. It's wild they haven't at least trialed it yet. I suppose I could see refs feeling like they have to make a decision quickly, but maybe they shouldn't see the clock ticking.

Seriously. Once a decade. Come on. I have news for all the kids and parents, no one cares if they miss days of school for things like this later in life. Now keeping schools open minimally for students that otherwise would not have anywhere to go makes a ton of sense.
