Ja, CO2 ist ein Schadstoff.
Viel zu selten wird das so klar beim Namen genannt.
Natürlich wird manch einer jetzt einwenden:
✖️CO2 an sich sei ungiftig.
✖️Man könne CO2 auch sinnvoll verwenden.
✖️Pflanzen brauchen CO2 fürs Wachstum.
Alles richtig. Allerdings:

The idea that we can “overshoot now, fix later” is simplistic.
Overshoot relies on massive CDR, but temporary warming can trigger tipping points and long-lived changes: ice sheet loss, permafrost thaw, ecosystem shifts.
Cooling later doesn’t guarantee reversal.

Niemand würde auf die Idee kommen, alle Verkehrsregeln zurückzunehmen, da sie Freiheit der Bürger*innen einschränkt. Rote Ampel u Stoppschild werden akzeptiert. Allen ist klar, Regeln wenden Gefahren ab. Es gibt kein Recht auf Verkehrssünden. Einschränkung Einzelner zur Wahrung Sicherheit aller.

Eine gravierende Einschränkung der Freiheit ist wenn dir dein Haus vor der Nase davonschwimmt - nicht ob du eine sowieso teurere Gasheizung einbauen darfs oder nicht.

Aus aktuellem Anlass: Wer das Völkerrecht bricht, oder Rechtsbruch duldet, gefährdet nicht nur die Ukraine, sondern letztlich die Demokratie im eigenen Land. Rechtlosigkeit und Gewalt im Außenverhältnis schlagen auf das Innenverhältnis durch.

Ich möchte/muss anfügen, dass dieser Angriff auf Rechts-Normen auch im Klimakontext nicht auf andere beschränkt ist, Beispiel Kriminalisierung der LG, Klimaschutz mit Verfassungsrang, Pariser Abkommen völkerrechtlich verbindlich.
