I found this piece of coral literally only a stone's throw from there about 35 years ago, so it made me wonder if it was that, though it looks a different type (and my geology teacher at the time said coral wasn't indigenous to that spot so likely washed in from a patch offshore, but a good find)

A stone that looks like it's made of honeycomb.

The other side of the honeycomb stone, which is smooth and a pale crab shell sort of colour.

A dark grey stone with light grey swirls, almost looking like a demonic face caught in some kind of dimensional rift.

No idea if this is a fossil or not, but I find it interesting nonetheless. Also a closer look at the swirly patterned one Flo picked up.

A squareish flat stone with holes that make it look like a curious face going oooh.

Flo's stones; several almost perfectly round like game counters, some with lines running through them, one with some iron staining and others with just interesting swirly patterns.

The stones I collected. One is smooth on one side, almost like a crab shell but with loads of tiny little holes on the other side, like it could be fossilized coral, or for all I know it could be a lump of some kind of pottery or even something organic. There was a time I would've been able to tell but that was long ago.

A full cooked breakfast comprising of 2 fried eggs, two rashers of bacon, two sausages, 7 roasted cherry tomatoes, a portion of fried mushrooms, 2 hash browns, a bowl of baked beans, two slices of buttered brown bread and a flat white. All excellent quality and no more expensive than other quantity-over-quality greasy spoon cafe's round here.

It *may* have come with some extra stuff.
Fwiw, I realized recently it's now been 15 years since I lost my dad. Still think of him every day and wonder what he'd make of stuff all the time but coping with him not being around *does* get easier.
