I was knitting to distress but I’ve got an f’ed up stitch and I’ve unknitted 2 rows and still can’t figure it out.

I did not make the cut.

I join about half the remaining potential jurors who also got dismissed back down to find if we will get a new court assignment. Fortunately, we do not.

So I leave with my validated parking and this #JuryDuty souvenir.

Funny thought as I’m waiting to find out if I’m in the final pick for #JuryDuty - we were asked if we know anyone in the courtroom already. If the presiding judge here was a different one, I could have replied “you married me last year.”
Missed opportunity.

After 1 more hr of jury questions, about 12 are dismissed, sent back down to the waiting room as they may get another court assignment. So that surprised me, as I was hoping to be dismissed but not if I’ve gotta go thru it all over again

We’re in a short afternoon break as lawyers pick the jury.

12 sit in the actual jury section. 6 of us (including me) sit in chairs in front of them. The rest fill 2 rows in the courtroom. Everyone but in that 2nd row answer questions. I’ve answered I think 4 total (so far).

I have no idea if I’ll be selected at this point. Perhaps I’ll be an alternate

Plot twist: I accidentally cleared the court. Following my answer to jury selection questions, we were all asked to leave for a short break. So #ProTip maybe don’t say you doubt an ability to be impartial against someone in the KKK (even if you don’t have any knowledge about the case yet)

8:25 welp after the 40 of us took elevators back to the 1st floor I’m back to that crowded jury room. Almost. It’s too full so waiting in hallway with a dozen others. We’re to wait down here while our judge finishes up some morning business.

8:16 Judge comes in with an update that things are delayed this morning - and a promise that the AC will come on. Seems like a nice guy - can’t recall if I’ve voted for him.
There are 40 of us jurors (that seems like a lot). We’ve filled the courtroom. #JuryDuty.

While most people fill the jury waiting room, I’m among those who go right up to a courtroom. I’m up on the 10th floor reading their info pamphlet. I’m assigned a number and supposed to remember it.

Worst part so far, seems there’s no AC in this courtroom.

And let me start by stating how fortunate and privileged I am. I’ve got a flexible schedule and without difficulties. My morning started helping a physically handicapped retired woman in the parking garage get down a flight of steps after discovering the garage elevator was out of service.
