Nine years ago today on a trip to Zhuzhou, China, I took some time to wander in Yan Emperor Square on a cloudy day. A creaky elevator ride up the Soviet-esque style tower activated my fear of heights to get a view of the city from above. I wasn’t game enough to walk on glass floor viewing platform.
