A Declaration of Emergency has been signed for Fulton County.

This declaration allows Fulton County and AFCEMA to activate additional resources during the response and recovery for the upcoming ice storm.

Ice Storm Expected this Weekend, Saturday Morning through Monday Morning. North Georgia, generally along and north of I-20. Highest impacts expected over northeast Georgia. Ice Storm Warning: ice accumulation of 0.25 to 1 inches. Winter Storm Watch: Ice accumulation of up to 0.25 inches. Anticipate major impacts, including dangerous (if not impossible) travel and power outages. Very cold temperatures will exacerbate hazardous conditions on Monday.

Metro Atlanta is now in an Ice Storm Warning, per the NWS Atlanta. Preparations should be completed today, as freezing rain and icy conditions are expected to begin tomorrow afternoon and last through Monday.

The Winter Storm Watch has been extended to include the Atlanta Metro. Now is the time to continue preparing for the possibility of winter weather, especially icy conditions.

A Flash Flood Warning includes central Fulton County until 11:30pm. Rapid flooding is occurring or expected to occur shortly. Do not walk or drive through flooded areas and be ready to seek higher ground if needed.
