As a fan I'd like to see Hjelle have a couple of good years in the majors, seems like he's been on the cusp for some time now.
Otherwise I have no problem with potential starters honing their skills in Sac. They can always join if/when needed.

Later is an episode that still gets me when I think about it. But what really impresses is that it's designed for two opposite reactions, was a sacrifice correct? JMS doesn't look to just generate emotions, or provide clear answers.

Season 3 episode 19 resulted in much JMS self-criticism, try to find it after you've watched it!
But yeah, amazing story telling.

Well, the five year story was scrunched in to four years. And not really written beforehand, more story arcs. JMS developed pretty bad carpal tunnel while trying to write season 4 by himself.

Agreed! Season 1 doesn't worry much about story arcs.
Also, not only was the budget less but the team was obsessed with not going over budget. Revolutionary for the time!
