One of our nicknames for him is “floor pig” because he kind of ambles around like a little pig sometimes and makes grunt/snort noises often.

They actually do pills and oral suspension now, on top of the shots! The shitty part is that no vet ER or office can keep it on hand for what I think are legal reasons. Essentially the FDA is letting compound pharmacies produce it when there’s a valid RX and looking the other way.

I’m so sorry to hear that 🖤 I didn’t know anything about FIP until our night at the emergency vet, but I’ve done a lot of research since. It’s wild that treatment was only legalized (barely) at the end of 2024. Meds are still difficult to source!

He luckily got sick after a treatment was finally made available in the US, but it’s costly. However, FIP is not a death sentence anymore! He’s responding well to his first weeks of treatment, and continues to improve.

He turned jaundiced (looking like a damn Simpson) and that is now reversed.
