this is what I’m saying. it’s not so much that the pilot is perfect but it was too many stark differences (that I mostly think are worse 😅) in the following episode(s). it’s thrown me off and I can’t recover!

the hairstyles and clothes of the women characters. the personality of essence atkins character. not having geoffrey owens in more, if not every, episode. even the editing. so jarring.

I think poppa’s house is the first show I’ve watched where the pilot is significantly better than most of the rest of the episodes. so many unnecessary and, in my opinion, worse creative changes from the first episode.

this week marked five months since my grandmother left us. today is her birthday, the first one without her. she would have been 103. happy heavenly birthday to my forever valentine. 💐
