I’d say the edge case to normie ratio is much more edge biased over there, east and west coasts are very much like we drive, but the middle very different. The flip side is that having a driveway is far more usual than here so home charging more doable for everyone.

It’s not really a myth though, distances travelled in most non-metropolis places are much greater than in Europe. I read that the average mileage across the US is 24,000 miles, double what it is in the UK. Daily mileage may only be a bit more, but many do longer road trips regularly.

One issue is that the US is such a different use case than Europe for EVs. They do vast mileages, often towing. For a lot of the US, the iX3/EX60 with 500 miles range is bare minimum but cost $85k. Especially when the non-Tesla infrastructure is still so appallingly bad.
