This morning I joined Wes Streeting MO and @kamrai.bsky.social to welcome a family to their new home in Barkingside.
This former builder’s yard directly opposite the station is now a fantastic development of 98 brand new social rented homes delivered by Places for London, Peabody and Vistry.
Yesterday Cllr @graciemaew.bsky.social and I co-chaired the third meeting of the London Housing Mission Board at Waltham Forest Town Hall.
A key focus of our discussion was on how we accelerate housing delivery, and the role of the new NHA London team based at City Hall.
Today bidding opens for @london.gov.uk’s new Social & Affordable Homes Programme 2026-36.
At nearly £12bn over 10 years it’s the largest and longest-term settlement we’ve ever had.
We encourage ambitious bids from councils and housing associations.

It was great to visit 30 brand new council homes delivered by Waltham Forest Council and Vistry at the Marlowe Road estate.
Residents will soon be moving into these beautiful new homes, which have been delivered with funding from @london.gov.uk’s Affordable Homes Programme.
Excellent reporting by @jim.londoncentric.media, @pollysmythe.bsky.social, @coramazov.bsky.social with a robust and swift response by @tomcopley.bsky.social

Every Londoner deserves a safe and secure home.
@london.gov.uk and Deputy Mayor for Housing @tomcopley.bsky.social oppose so-called ‘no-fault’ evictions and are determined to ensure that no one is put at risk of homelessness in the capital.
This afternoon I joined Brent Council and Wates to celebrate the topping out of 54 brand new affordable homes in the Wembley Housing Zone.
The homes were delivered with funding support from the @london.gov.uk Affordable Homes Programme.
Writing in On London, Deputy Mayor for Housing @tomcopley.bsky.social explains the action @london.gov.uk is taking to deliver more homes of all tenures across our city, backed by record £11.7 billion funding through City Hall’s Social & Affordable Homes Programme.

I have written to Criterion Capital expressing my deep concern at reports that they are mass evicting Londoners from their homes, and urging them to reconsider.

At the groundbreaking for 64 new almshouses in Southwark, I spoke to Inside Housing about how City Hall is working with ministers to unblock barriers to homebuilding in London.

15 of the 37 disabled residents of Grenfell Tower died during the fire, a devastating statistic.

In response to the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, the government legislated for Residential Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (RPEEPs) in 18m+ and some 11-18m buildings.
This morning I welcomed social landlords to a workshop with the London Fire Brigade to raise awareness of the importance of RPEEPs.
There are sites across London with the potential to deliver thousands of homes. They aren’t getting built because of planning, infrastructure, financing or regulatory issues.
Our New Homes Accelerator (NHA LDN) will work to unblock these sites and get spades in the ground.
Yesterday I joined @hammersmithandy.bsky.social and @shansview.bsky.social to celebrate the completion of 197 brand new affordable homes in Brentford, delivered by Peabody and Telford Homes.
Residents will soon move into this development, which includes wheelchair accessible and family sized homes.
It was fantastic to celebrate the groundbreaking for the first 430 new homes at Church Street delivered by @citywestminster.bsky.social and Mount Anvil.
Thanks to the council choosing to ballot estate residents in 2022, funding from @london.gov.uk will help deliver 50% affordable homes.

It was a pleasure to celebrate the launch of the second edition of the @futureoflondon.bsky.social Council-Led Housing Network, which provides vital support to London borough development teams.
London has led the way nationally when it comes to new council homebuilding.
Russia is throwing huge numbers of missiles at Ukraine’s energy infrastructure this winter in an attempt to freeze the Ukranian people. Donate here to support Ukraine’s defence and reconstruction. 👇🏻

Russia’s full-scale invasion began 4 years ago. It began in winter, and so this winter is the 5th. And, for civilians, the worst. Russia launches missiles and drones at energy infrastructure to force Ukrainians to endure the freezing cold. Here's how you can help

Today I visited the stunning Stirling Prize and Neave Brown Award-winning Appleby Blue Almhouse in Southwark.
Run by United St Saviour’s, Appleby Blue provides social housing for older people. Beautiful flats, light corridors with places to sit, and gorgeous community spaces.
BBC News: London to get £1.5bn share of housing loan scheme www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

London’s getting £1.5bn of the government’s new low cost loans for housing associations, 60% of the national pot.
They’ll be part of the Mayor of @london.gov.uk’s City Hall Developer Investment Fund.
The 0.1% interest loans have echoes of Vienna’s renowned social housing funding model.
It was fantastic to celebrate the completion of new homes at Dagenham Green delivered by Peabody and Hill, including 4-bedroom affordable homes funded by the Mayor of @london.gov.uk.
A total of 3,500 homes and a new park will be built at Dagenham Green, which is on the site of the old Ford plant.
Since @sadiqkhanlondon.bsky.social launched Building Council Homes for Londoners in 2018 more than 25,000 have been built or are underway.
Sadiq spoke to George Clark about the inportance of social housing as we celebrated Haringey Council building it’s 1,000th new home.
A real pleasure to meet George Clarke and hear about his experiences growing up on a council estate. We both know the positive impact social housing can have on families’ lives.
That’s why I’m determined to continue delivering more council homes as we build a fairer London for everyone.
So good to see my absolute faves White Lies bring all the drama and melancholy to the Roundhouse last night. 🖤
