Ethiopia confirms first Marburg outbreak as WHO lauds country's fast action Ethiopia has confirmed its first Marburg outbreak after nine cases were identified in the southern region of the country that borders South Sudan.

The suspected outbreak of a hemorrhagic vial illness in Ethiopia has now been confirmed to Marburg Virus Disease. So far 9 cases have been identified in a part of the country that shares a border with Sudan.

I am sounding the alarm that the GOP is engaged in an all out attack voting rights and free and fair elections. Voter suppression, gerrymandering, and troops in blue cities are just some of the ways they are using to try to rig the rules to keep power in 2026 and beyond.

I completely agree. Throw in low covid vaccine and flu vaccine rates given the ongoing misinformation and access barriers from the top, the threat of birdflu that never really went away and we are entering a very uncertain respiratory virus season in the US.

California, Oregon and Washington announced yesterday they’ve created their own health alliance, saying the CDC has become “a political tool that increasingly peddles ideology instead of science.”

New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Rhode Island have now done the same.

Put it to the top of my reading list - sounds right up my alley - and made a BlueSky post promoting others to do the same!
