Thank you so so much for reading it, must have been a tough read for you, I'm so very sorry for the loss of your brother to this truly vile disease. Would you like me to add his name for Sunday? It would be my honour to carry Barry with me x

Next Sunday I’ll be running the #LondonMarathon for #BeMoreLaura & #SiblingSupport 2 charities very close to my heart ❀️

Last year I wore the names of 252 people lost to #braincancer - my skirt is pretty full but if you’ve lost someone to this awful disease pls let me know & I’ll add them

As we near the end of #BrainTumourAwarenessMonth the need for change is more desperate than ever.
Through the #BeMoreLaura foundation we'll keep campaigning & funding vital research into #Glioblastoma because no family should ever experience this utter devastation.

Some moments change your life forever.
I just wanted to share this audio clip from #TheStarsWillStillBeThere - the very first inkling that something was amiss.

Like so many other families, we thought brain tumours happened to other people but we were horribly wrong.

When my sister died, it wasn’t just her own childhood memories that disappeared. Mine did too | Jason Hazeley Millie had fantastic recall, unlike mine. Now there are parts of my past – and myself – that I’ll never be able to remember, says comedy writer Jason Hazeley

This piece by John Hazeley
really nails it.
We often underestimate just how devastating the loss of a sibling can be & how it can impact life in so many ways.

Gracie & I got matching tattoos when we lost Laura last year, I felt the need to wear my grief in some way because I would forever by branded by the loss of my daughter. She was my North my South, my East my West. My working week and my Sunday rest.

Public speaking scares the pants off me but it’s important to share our stories (& #bemorelaura ) so today I was grateful for the opportunity to speak at a brilliant Pro Manchester event alongside the inspirational Clarke Carlisle & Andrew Jenkins from S2 #Traitors

β€œWe walked to a bench overlooking the sea to stare up at a million stars in the velvet sky, untroubled by light pollution.

β€˜When we’re dead & buried, the stars will still be there, & the tide will come in and go back out; we’re really hardly anything at all, are we?’ Laura said softly.”

I’m sure I’ve been guilty of this in the past & I know I meant well but whether it’s the loss of a loved one or a horrible diagnosis - words really do count.
Starting a consoling sentence with β€˜Well at least…’ is never a good idea & if you don’t know what to say - just say that ❀️

Those milestones dates are so painful and the weeks and days leading up almost worse in some ways, I’m so sorry Jonathon and Kayleigh aren’t here with you, will be thinking of you as those dates approach. Sending so much love x

As of today, I can no longer say β€˜I lost my daughter last year’ & if it’s not last year, it must seem like ages ago to other people who probably wonder why I'm still so bloody sad?
2025 is another year Laura doesn’t get to see & a step further away from her.
Grief is completely relentless isn’t it πŸ’”

I'm on 43 now Ben - all our family donate regularly, it's the least we can do. I was so grateful for the blood Laura received, it made an instant difference when she was v unwell. If we expect it to be available for the people we love, we need to support the NHS blood banks
Thanks for all you do xx
