Refugees do not choose to come here - by definition, they were forced to flee.
Scrapping permanent status will trap refugees in a state of insecurity and fear. This is inhumane cruelty.
Doing so says some people deserve fewer rights - and that inequality is law.

β οΈBREAKING: A powerful result in Gorton & Denton.
Voters rejected the divisive policies of Reform and Labour that have been designed to target migrant communities.
Manchester chose hope over fear and made it clear: this is not who we are.

The political debate about migration is the most hostile it has been in almost a century, with the biggest swing in just the last few years.
Language has consequences, it trickles into in our policies and into violence on our streets.

Itβs deeply alarming that detention centres are failing to follow their own safeguarding guidance - just weeks after excessive force against vulnerable migrants was exposed at Brook House.
Immigration detention actively inflicts harm. It must end.

Reform UK have just shared their Trumpian vision for this country. Letβs be clear, the language used is dangerous and extreme. Nigel Farage's plans would tank our economy, damage our democracy and make the UK a less safe place for all of us.

Reform offers a future where British people loose their rights to drive racist, xenophobic policies that spread hate and harm.
We know where this leads: children torn from their parents, people afraid of random detention, a state no one can hold to account.

This is why the Home Office shouldn't be allowed to change the immigration rules in ways that affect all our lives, without so much as a shred of scrutiny.
Dramatic changes to settlement rules are coming soon with:

Reform's agenda wonβt just hurt migrants - it will entrench hardship for working-class communities of every background.
Record high child poverty is the direct result of the very austerity policies Reformβs cabinet pushed when they were in the Conservative Party.

We have heard that there will be racist protests in Manchester this Saturday which may be violent (21 Feb). Please take care if you are in the area.
Please know that these people coming to Manchester to protest are the minority - they do not speak for our community who stand in solidarity with you.

The PM is right, Jim should apologise.
But if Keir is looking for some ways to stop stoking divisions in our communities, we'd humbly suggest he start by taking a look at his Government's immigration policies.
So we have a billionaire, tax-avoiding owner of a football club literally *full* of migrants, wheeling out racist tropes straight out of the far-right playbook.
Jim & people like him are the problem, not the migrants working every day to keep our economy afloat.

Spain shows the case for migrant rights is not only a moral one but an economic one. Right now, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is going in the opposite direction and the truth is, we're all going to be worse off.
People need to be able to settle in our communities in a quick and affordable way.
