I think a lot of us get hope wrong. Hope, I do not believe, is an emotion. In fact, hope makes space for lots of emotions to exist alongside it. You can DO hope scared, angry, sad etc...

Hope doesn't find us. We make hope through action and struggle. It's a practice of living and is re-made daily.

No they're not. They know exactly what they're voting for: The continued dismantling of our public health system. That's what they want. You know this. Why do we have to do this playacting goldfish brain shit every time.

excerpt reads: "I hear stories about directors who scream at actors, or they trick them somehow to get a performance. And there are some people who try to run the whole business on fear. But I think this is such a joke -- it's pathetic and stupid at the same time.
When people are in fear, they don't want to go to work. So many people today have that feeling. Then the fear starts turning into hate, and they begin to hate going to work. Then the hate can turn into anger and people can become angry at their boss and their work.
If I ran my set with fear, I would get 1 percent, not 100 percent, of what I get. And there would be no fun in going down the road together. And it *should* be fun. In work and in life, we're all supposed to get along. We're supposed to have so much fun, like puppy dogs with our tails wagging. It's supposed to be great living; it's supposed to be fantastic."

A 3/4 profile view of David Lynch, a man in a dark suit coat and white button-up shirt with no tie and swept back grey hair, looking down pensively in a room with red drapes and a black and white herringbone-pattern floor (from the TV series Twin Peaks).

I’ve been expecting this one given his recent health issues, but I can’t really put into words how much this man’s work has meant to me over my lifetime. I’m so grateful to have it.

Not to be alarmist, but please be prepared for many gov services to vanish or be horribly downgraded in the months to come. While continuing to push national and local electeds to hold the line, think about non-gov groups that are supporting folks in your community and consider how to support them.

Air pollution from AI could surpass that of all the cars in California Massive data centers power large language models but produce fine particles linked to asthma, cancers, and premature deaths.

Once again asking what problem this technology has solved or is expected to solve to force us to endure this. www.fastcompany.com/91253026/air...

I am seeing more and more opinions bubbling up about how throwing trans people to the wolves would be a winning strategy for Democrats, and I just want to quickly say: Fuck off with that absolute dog shit.
