I'm a minister who is here in Minneapolis in answer to the call MARCH put out last week. In our training, this message sounded again & again: MN is a test case. The admin is watching: what can they get away with? And if/when ICE invades our hometowns, we'll be ready to replicate what MN has done.

I'm in Minneapolis because we are all connected. I weep for my neighbors who are harassed and scapegoated. I love the next generation and want to leave them a country that is free of authoritarian rule. I'll keep fighting for them all. #ICEOUT

This is a very unfair characterization. They also have to be white, thin, and in the rare cases that they are female, pretty, preferably with blond hair.

We got this. If what you need to do right now is rest and take care of yourself, then that's your part in the resistance.

For decades the NRA and other gun nuts told us that their guns were to protect us all from a tyrannical government. So a tyrannical government is here, they are all sitting on their asses, and the people who want gun control have taken to the streets to defy the tyrannical government instead.

And four years ago he was calling Paradise, CA, "Pleasure," and blaming wildfires on a failure to sweep the forest floor. So he was already totally unfit.

Crowd at 24th and Mission, SF, is large and growing. Lots of us on the other three corners. A line of cop motorcycles is a block away. Here's hoping they stay there.

This aged well.

Agree. Sure, he's a lot smarter than Trump, but who isn't?

It's hard to overstate how destructive the reflexive "this is a distraction!" stuff that politicians and commentators and people are always peddling.

Everything is happening all at once. That's how authoritarianism works. If you can't navigate and synthesize this, you're not meeting the moment.

I loved the latter aspect, too.

Great movie. My teenage daughter and I watched it together and had a long conversation about regret and what you do if you feel like you've made huge mistakes in your life. You don't have to be Asian or an immigrant for this film to speak deeply to you.

It's only Wednesday! You are making the rest of us procrastinators look really bad.

...inadequate to the point of inaccuracy. I think they will say "unethical" and "journalistic malpractice," and so do I.

We need better from the fourth estate.

But if we imagine people of 50 years from now looking at this article side by side with the transcript of the speech, and asking "How did the paper of record portray someone so obviously unfit as if he were healthy but 'rambled' a bit?," I am sure they will consider both of these terms ...

"Sanewashing" gets closer to the truth: that the Times is deliberately portraying as sane behavior that is demonstrably insane.

"Buried the lede" suggests that at some point, the article turned to the most important part of the story, which was that the most powerful man on earth gave a one-hour illustration of classic symptoms of dementia. But it did not.

This is how you do it. While law firms, Paramount, and so many others are lining up to be shaken down, the Detroit Opera House is speaking truth to power.

Today I'm asking myself, "What's the thing I can do in my job to push back hardest against fascism?" What's yous?

What's hostile about it? Trump says tariffs are beautiful. And if you're trying to drive consumers towards domestic goods, showing them the tariffs they'll pay for imports is a key tool.

Once again we see that Trump has no policy, no plan, just impulsivity.

The follow-up question to "We're not planning to replace Musk" is "Why aren't you?"

I must've missed that claim. What a thoroughgoing asshat he is.

His voice sounds like that because he has spasmidic dysphonia. It is not a sign that he doesn't take care of his health. You wouldn't say that someone who was blind, deaf, or paraplegic shouldn't be HHS Secretary, right? So please, leave his voice out of it.

Now back to his real disqualifications.
