Many Iranians wanted a regime change, thousands protested against the Supreme leader, called for Trump to help them. And he did. Now it's a case of be careful what you wish for. I don't think they expected a full scale war, with school children being killed and buildings razed. Casualties mounting.

When I was growing up, my mother always told me that if I was in a situation where I was scared or feeling uncomfortable, trust a policeman to help you. No longer good advice.

I agree. Iran's nuclear capability had to be contained. But not with brutal force. Trump and Netanyahu are war mongers and criminals. This is the outcome they wanted, not a nuclear agreement.

In their minds, I think if a country doesn't publicaly denounce the attack on Iran, it must mean that country supports it.

I don't think there was any negotiating. It was give the US everything they ask for or it's war. And war was what the US wanted.

This is an impossible situation. We have listed the IRGC as terrorist org. The Iranian's have been supporting proxy wars across the region. The UN doesn't want Iran to have nuclear weapons and is unable to assess their capabilities. To not support efforts to rein in Iran would be hypocritical now.

It's critically important that Iran not have nuclear weapons. But when the US negotiating team met with Iran, what was their position? Were there any enticements for Iran to stop their nuclear program? I suspect it was a hard line. They claimed progress and more meetings to come. So what happened?

Yes, just as millions of American voters didn't believe Trump would get elected, not just once, but twice. Too many Canadians are sleep walking when it comes to election time. PP may not have a majority, but they are true to him and will get out to vote. We mustn't sleep walk into a nightmare.
