A few months ago, an update to Apple's "clean up" retouching tool deployed a "Safety filter" when nudity was detected that would automatically pixelate everything artists wanted to retouch.
We told them to remove this frustrating assumption that hindered artists from editing their artwork!
A few weeks ago we had the honor of participating in UNESCO’s World Press Freedom Day 2025 as part of a conversation about how digital technologies like AI are impacting artistic freedom.
DDA’s @exshaps.bsky.social joined @unesco.org, LAS Art Foundation, CISAC, and Viviana Rangel 🔥
With “Don’t Delete Art Presents,” we shine a spotlight on the incredible and resilient artists in our DDA Gallery, and their stories of censorship.
Find Justyna’s work and the work of many more artists facing suppression and censorship online at the Don’t Delete Art website! www.dontdelete.art
One of the more frustrating things artists face when it comes to art censorship and suppression online is not only that self-censored work is wrongly actioned on, but artwork that has been posted earlier (even years earlier) is actioned on and creates visibility issues for your account.

It's always been a dangerous censorship bill.
But in this environment, with Trump weaponizing every aspect of the Federal government to suppress speech he doesn't like, KOSA is a catastrophic attack on human rights.
We have to stop it.

12.03.2025 15:30 — 👍 1 🔁 1 💬 0 📌 0Is the art in your feed curated by... a tech company? Content moderation policies and enforcement algorithms are de facto determining what art circulates.
This has an outsized effect on which artists succeed and what kinds of art audiences have the opportunity to see in the first place.
Content moderation policies and AI Algorithm design must correct this. The same kinds of art that are readily accessible in museums should not be downranked or deleted online.
If you agree, sign the dontdelete.art/manifesto and demand that artists’ perspectives be included in content moderation!
This IWD, we want to call your attention to a key problem affecting the accessibility of art online:
The human nude has been a source of artistic inspiration for at least 30,000 years, but common AI algorithms are trained to sexualize (and hide) the female-presenting body.
Hi DDA community! Just a note to say how much we appreciate your resilience and art 💖💖 The internet is changing, and being there for each other is more important than ever to assure art is protected and valued wherever we are.
