Former FBI informant Alexander Smirnov pleaded guilty today to lying about a phony bribery scheme involving Joe Biden and his son Hunter that was central to congressional Republicans’ impeachment inquiry into the president. He entered his plea to a felony charge in connection with the bogus story.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini suggested that Ukraine might have to make territorial concessions for peace. In response, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Georgiy Tykhyi reminded that the last time Slovak lands were given up for peace, it didn’t end well.

When she described her budget in the Atlanta Journal recently, less enterprising housewives sent in letters of disbelief and the city's CIO got to work on an official denial that any family could eat so cheaply. It gets even funnier: the article it's from ["High Prices", Life Magazine, Nov. 10, 1947] is on post-war inflation & how much less the same amount buys compared to 1939.

She's presented as an example of someone who counts every penny & makes sacrifices in order to have a below-average grocery bill.
