Now we (myself, coworker, and boss) are rolling our eyes at this guy as we walk through the the suggestion he said was inefficient. Because he thinks having your files sync between your phone and computer automatically is less efficient that connecting your phone via a USB cable.

Just had a user argue with me that cyber security is inefficient and since we haven't had any data spills we're going too far. 🤦Because *re*active cyber security is what we should be striving for.

I just checked my AO3 profile and apparently I joined Nov 13, 2009, god that makes me feel old.
Also, I thought I had spent a higher % of my fannish time pre-AO3, but not really, since I initially got into fandom late 2003.

I mean, I totally use TTS apps too, but that's clearly not what the person was asking for as it's not podfic. Especially since they had named their favourite podficcer in the post.

Anyway, I've now added 20 recs and discovered that reddit has a character limit for comments and it's not very long, actually.
I can't believe the requester got mostly TTS suggestions when asking for podfic recs when the fandom has more than 4400 podfics!

So, what little I do around podfic fandom these days is answer podfic questions on reddit and I came across a post today where HP recs were suggested and the comments were how to use TTS to listen to any story, rec of a TTS creator, and 1 podficcer rec and one self rec. Very sad.

However I did go home, lie down in the dark and immediately fell asleep for about 13 hours. I didn't even change before lying down so I woke up this morning still in a bra, yesterday's clothes, even my nametag still on. 🤦

So, I had a headache yesterday and I probably should have gone home, but thanks to The Year of Constant Migraine I hold myself to a stupidly high level of pain before it's ok to say a headache is "bad".

I have a few pairs of long johns I occasionally use, but actually prefer fleece-lined leggings, they work under trousers for extra warmth, or I often wear skirts to wear them instead of tights or nylons (tights or nylons under trousers also help with warmth, depending on how cold you are).

So, somehow on Sunday I managed to loose my car keys IN MY CAR. I know they're in the car because I can still drive the car and the doors don't auto-lock. But can I find them? No! There aren't even that many places they could be. I don't understand how this happened.

Update: apparently the whole phone went in the toilet and the card wasn't actually flushed, it was just the only thing that didn't work once dried.

My family plays wordle competitively everyday so I was sure I was going to win yesterday but then my mom *also* got it on her second guess! Also with just one yellow letter from her 1st guess.

Today's WTF story from the IT desk: user just called to say he flushed his work phone's SIM card down the toilet.

I didn't even ask, it seemed like cursed knowledge.

I don't normally talk about my wordle on here, but this morning I went from 1 yellow letter on my 1st guess to getting the word on my 2nd. 😲

I totally dressed up for Halloween today but so far seem to be the only person at work who has. 😆

I am very relieved!

My union had a vote yesterday on whether or not to accept a new offer and if we don't, we're going on strike. They were supposed to start counting the ballots at 9 and I am soooo impatient to know the results! (I really don't want to go on strike)

I guess something can be technically true while not being true to how people culturally feel or think about something. This is making me think about the time someone described Baffin Island as being off Canada's east coast and the brain wrinkle it gave me.

It makes sense that it's not part of the cultural west coast. If he had just said "the 3 west coast states" I wouldn't have blinked. But I guess it's also fair to think of Alaska as the only north coast state.

I definitely got more than one convo about sex, mostly from my mom, though dad would answer questions if I had any. Most memorably from my grandfather who had dementia at the time. His talk was... awkward and not very educational but did leave my uncle confused as to why I got one when he didn't.

I'm listening to an American podcast and at one point one of the host says "three west coast states, the only west coast states" (the aside as a sort of self correction) but it has me wondering (as a non-American), does Alaska not count?
