The first panel shows a framed text that reads : "Discovery: Book titles are way better if you add "hundred" any time the word "a" appears." The next 3 panels show classic literature books with modified titles : To Kill a Hundred Mockingbirds, A Hundred Rooms of One's Own, Death of a Hundred Salesmen.
The Perks of Being A Hundred Wallflowers is about a teenager with the superpower to turn into an army of shy people.

It's not like there's a handle thoughโthe catch is along the top edge of the door, between the fridge door and freezer door. It's not conceptually hard, just hard as a matter of not having thumbs and wedging his nose into exactly the right place with exactly the right pressure

14.03.2025 16:06 โ ๐ 486 ๐ 164 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 1When I ask them: "What are you reading? What are you watching? What are you listening to?" Often, the answer is: nothing. Which has a direct effect on their over-use of prompts and AI, because they can't think of ideas, because they are literally not engaging with a single figurative thing.
28.11.2025 22:33 โ ๐ 2446 ๐ 238 ๐ฌ 17 ๐ 39I don't know how to teach students who hate reading/writing, when reading/writing are the foundations of what I'm supposed to teach. Yes, I engage with audio technologies, digital narratives, cinema, material culture...but it's all forms of reading. I just don't know what they want out of this.
28.11.2025 22:31 โ ๐ 2151 ๐ 106 ๐ฌ 11 ๐ 9It's like they just keep...forgetting? Or they read the instructions and completely disregard them, even knowing that they can't pass the assignment without demonstrating really clear skills (citing material, writing on a course text, etc.). They just...don't do it. And don't seem to care.
28.11.2025 22:26 โ ๐ 1796 ๐ 72 ๐ฌ 13 ๐ 14We're seeing possibly the worst attendance in history. Even in creative writing classes, where students generally want to participate and have their voice heard--they're not showing up, ignoring guidelines and feedback, and either describing expectations as "unclear" or simply refusing to comply.
28.11.2025 22:17 โ ๐ 2198 ๐ 115 ๐ฌ 13 ๐ 20An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
28.11.2025 22:15 โ ๐ 5074 ๐ 1185 ๐ฌ 258 ๐ 842We keep adjusting our goalposts, trying to meet students where they're at--but for some, that place is a kind of non-place, where they don't complete any work or engage with the class, but still receive a high grade. Emails are ignored. They can't meet a deadline or keep an appointment.
