It’s the kind of eloquent, outdated and overtly polite language they use, owing to a lot of these countries being former British colonies. The phrase “be rest assured” is another giveaway.

When you realise that nobody really speaks like that anymore, the alarm bells really ring.

Today, Balto is 30. Released in US theatres on this day back in 1995.

It may have had a rough time at the box office (for many reasons..) but its influence on many - myself included - is undoubtable.

Universal slashed the marketing and it only got into a couple of thousand theatres worldwide, with most of them being in North America.
It’s run on home video was much more successful since people had learned of the movie by that point and it made Universal money, hence the dreadful VHS sequels.
