For the record, German probably won't need double the space, but knowing they'll need some extra room is always useful! (I figured I'd clarify because I'm the queen of using-hyperbole-for-comedic-effect-and-confusing-innocent-people. But the 30% for Spanish I can vouch for.) Have a lovely night! :)

Fingers crossed, they'll only be temporary headaches! (Or at least worth it) And I'm happy to help. :) I've seen so many devs struggle with localization issues they didn't see coming, so I figure if I can at least save one person from a headache haha...

But just remember the golden rule of localization and save yourself a few future headaches: no matter how short your string is, German will probably need double the space to translate it. 😳 (In Spanish we just need around 30% extra, but I've seen the struggles of my German-speaking colleagues lol)

Not gonna lie, if I had a penny for every time I've seen clients mourning their original perfectly-centered text before the localization process started... So, I kind of get your pain haha.

Try not to judge yourself if your best isn't what it usually is too. Remember to breathe, and reach out to your friends/colleagues if you need help. Your best, whatever it may be, is good enough. There is no shame in needing a hand or understanding during stressful times. You'll get through this. 💜
