A bomb in a box. A swim in a creek packed with saltwater crocs. A bullet. A blowout. The end of a rope.

The Hobbit was my first Tolkien read when I was about 7 years old, started LOTR around a year later. I didn’t go for The Silmarillion until my teens along with Farmer Giles of Ham.
